Red States and Blue States in Ukraine

The map showing the results of the Ukrainian elections is so far the most interesting item I've come across on subject. As you can see, the country is split down the middle between rural conservatives in the east and wealthier liberals in the west.  Sound familiar? In the absence of a unifying, Obama-type leader -- and none come readily to mind -- one should expect to see many more such splits in upcoming elections not just in Europe, but worldwide.
